PM Modi To Meet Trump In US On Feb 12-13, First Visit After Second-Term Inauguration
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the United States on February 12-13, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced on Friday. During the trip, he will hold discussions with US President Donald Trump.
"PM Modi will undertake an official working visit to the US on February 12 and 13. This marks his first visit to the US following President Donald Trump's second-term inauguration. The prime minister will be among the first global leaders to visit the US after President Trump's swearing-in," Misri stated during a special briefing by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming visit to the United States was confirmed shortly after a White House official announced that President Trump had invited him for a meeting next week.
Last month, Trump indicated that he would be hosting the Indian Prime Minister, saying, "I had a long talk with him this morning, and he's going to be coming to the White House next month, likely in February," during a press conference.
On January 27, PM Modi had a phone conversation with Trump, during which they discussed enhancing cooperation in important areas such as technology, trade, and defense. Both leaders also reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating for global peace and security.
"We are dedicated to establishing a mutually beneficial and trustworthy partnership. We will work together for the welfare of our people and towards global peace, prosperity, and security," PM Modi expressed.
Donald Trump was officially sworn in as the 47th President of the United States on January 20. A week later, on January 27, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with him over the phone, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to a "trusted" partnership, emphasizing trade, energy, and defense cooperation.
Representing India, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar attended Trump's inauguration ceremony and handed over a letter from PM Modi to the newly sworn-in U.S. President.
