PM Modi Dedicates Multiple Projects In Telangana; CM KCR Skips The Prime Minister's Event Again

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday dedicated to the nation and laid the foundation stone of multiple developmental projects worth more than Rs 13,500 crore, in important sectors like road, rail, petroleum and natural gas, and higher education in Telangana.

However, Telangana Chief Minister will skip the event while the BRS Minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav will receive PM Modi and participate in the official programs, said Minister Srinivas Yadav, according to ANI.

Since February 2022, this is the sixth time in a row that CM KCR has chosen not to attend the Prime Minister's events in the state.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister emphasized the importance of both rail and road connectivity, especially for a land-locked state like Telangana, enabling the transportation of locally manufactured goods to the ports. He noted that several vital economic corridors of the country traverse Telangana, serving as vital links to connect the state with both the East and West Coast. Specifically, the Suryapet-Khammam section of the Hyderabad-Visakhapatnam corridor will facilitate connectivity to the East Coast and aid in lowering logistics costs for industries and businesses. Additionally, the ongoing construction of the railway line between Jaklair and Krishna section holds great significance for the local population, he added.

The Prime Minister announced the establishment of the National Turmeric Board by the Central Government, aimed at benefiting turmeric farmers in Telangana. He emphasized that the National Turmeric Board's primary objectives would revolve around enhancing value within the supply chain and advancing infrastructure for the farmers.

Addressing recent global advancements in the energy and energy security sector, the Prime Minister highlighted the government's efforts in ensuring energy accessibility for both industries and households. He cited the notable increase in LPG cylinders, rising from 14 crore in 2014 to 32 crore in 2023, and mentioned the recent reduction in gas prices.

The PM emphasized the government's commitment to expanding the LPG distribution network nationwide, specifically mentioning the significance of the Hassan-Cherlapalli LPG Pipeline Project in bolstering energy security in the region. Furthermore, he discussed the groundbreaking for the Multiproduct Petroleum Pipeline from Krishnapatnam to Hyderabad, highlighting its potential to generate numerous direct and indirect job opportunities in Telangana.

Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, Union Minister G Kishan Reddy, MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar attended the event.

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated numerous structures at Hyderabad Central University. The Central Government has accorded 'Institution of Eminence' status to Hyderabad University, along with special funding. The Prime Minister proclaimed, "The Government of India is set to establish a Central Tribal University in Mulugu district. This institution will bear the name of the esteemed tribal goddesses Sammakka-Sarakka. An allocation of approximately Rs 900 crore will be directed towards Sammakka-Sarakka Central Tribal University."

He extended his congratulations to the people of Telangana for this pivotal development in the form of the Central Tribal University.
