PM Modi To Join Annamalai's 'Padayatra' Today; Expected to Draw 10 Lakh People

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday will address a massive rally in Tamil Nadu's Palladam in Tiruppur district, where state BJP chief K Annamalai's 'En Mann En Makkal' (My Land, My People) yatra will conclude.

As per the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi is set to arrive at Coimbatore's Sulur Airport in the afternoon of February 27. From there, he will travel to Palladam by helicopter.

PM To Hold Massive Rally In Tiruppur

Around 2:45 pm, he will reach Madhapur to join a mega rally organized by the state BJP, before departing for Madurai.

Billed as the BJP's show of strength in Tamil Madu, the saffron party is expecting 10 lakh people to attend the event. BJP State President Annamalai has travelled all 234 assembly segments in Tamil Nadu through the yatra which was inaugurated by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on July 28.

Expecting a massive gathering, seats would be arranged for five lakh persons, Annamalai told reporters.

Meanwhile, GK Vasan-led Tamil Maanila Congress (TMC) has joined the NDA. "Today, economic growth and security of the nation is very important. Uplift of poor people is more important, infrastructure is very important. We are going to be the third economic power in the world. All this put together, TMC wants a government, a Prime Minister who can really achieve this," said former union minister Vasan said and lauded the BJP and PM Narendra Modi for delivering in various sectors in the last decade.

He will be taking part in the event.

After the event, the Prime Minister will take part in a program titled 'Digital Mobility Initiative for Automotive MSME' at TVS Lakshmi School in Madurai.

Following his overnight stay in Madurai, he will head to Thoothukudi in the morning of February 28 to lay the foundation stones for various projects. From there, he will proceed to Tirunelveli, where he is scheduled to address a public meeting in the south district, before continuing to Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
