PM Modi To Inaugurate Supreme Court's Diamond Jubilee Celebration On Sunday

The Diamond Jubilee celebration of the Supreme Court of India is set to be inaugurated on Sunday noon on the apex court premises by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The 75th year of the Supreme Court will be marked.

The Prime Minister will launch citizen-centric information and technology initiatives, including Digital Supreme Court Reports (Digi SCR), Digital Courts 2.0, and the new website of the Supreme Court, as stated in a release from the Prime Minister's Office on Saturday, reported ANI.

On this special occasion, the gathering will also be addressed by him. The availability of Supreme Court judgments to the citizens of the country free of charge and in electronic format will be facilitated by the Digital Supreme Court Reports (SCR).

The key features of digital SCR include making all 519 volumes of the Supreme Court reports since 1950, covering 36,308 cases, available in a digital format that is bookmarked, user-friendly, and open access.

The Digital Courts 2.0 application, a recent initiative under the e-Courts project, aims to make court records available to the judges of the district courts in electronic form. This is coupled with the use of artificial intelligence (AI) for transcribing speech to text on a real-time basis, according to ANI reports.

Additionally, the new website of the Supreme Court will be launched by the Prime Minister. The new website, redesigned with a user-friendly interface, will be in a bilingual format in English and Hindi.
