PM Modi to Address Rally in Delhi, Unveil ₹11,000-Crore Highway Projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will headline a massive rally in Rohini today, where he is set to inaugurate two landmark highway projects worth nearly ₹11,000 crore. The event marks not only the launch of key infrastructure initiatives but also a showcase of his government's vision to transform connectivity in the national capital region.

At the rally, Modi will dedicate to the nation the Delhi section of the Dwarka Expressway and the Alipur-Dichaon Kalan stretch of the Urban Extension Road-II (UER-II). Together, these projects aim to ease Delhi's chronic traffic woes and strengthen links with Haryana.

The 10.1 km Delhi segment of the Dwarka Expressway, built at a cost of around ₹5,360 crore, will connect important nodes including Yashobhoomi, Metro's Blue and Orange lines, the upcoming Bijwasan railway station, and the Dwarka cluster bus depot. Modi had earlier inaugurated the Haryana section of this expressway in March 2024.

The UER-II stretch, constructed at a cost of about ₹5,580 crore, will link Alipur to Dichaon Kalan and provide new road access to Bahadurgarh and Sonipat. The corridor is expected to decongest inner and outer Ring Roads and ease traffic at major choke points like Mukarba Chowk, Dhaula Kuan, and NH-09.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister is expected to underline how these infrastructure projects will not only cut travel time but also accelerate industrial and goods movement in the region. According to the PMO, the twin projects are a step towards creating "world-class infrastructure for seamless mobility and improved living standards."
