PM Modi Says India’s Strikes in Pakistan Shattered Terrorists’ Morale
In a powerful address to the nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised the bravery and dedication of India's armed forces, saluting their actions during Operation Sindoor. The operation, launched in response to the barbaric terrorist attacks in Pahalgam on April 22, demonstrated India's unwavering commitment to national security and its resolve against terrorism.
During his address, PM Modi began by expressing his deepest gratitude to the nation's military, intelligence agencies, and scientists, who played a crucial role in the success of Operation Sindoor. He stated, "I salute our armed forces for their valor and commitment. Their bravery in executing the operation has made our nation proud." The Prime Minister dedicated the success of the operation to the mothers, sisters, and daughters of India, reflecting on the deep emotional significance of the strike against terrorism.

PM Modi described the terrorist attack in Pahalgam as an act that shook the nation and the world. "The barbaric killings of innocent civilians, targeted based on their religion and carried out in front of their families, were a stark reminder of the cruelty of terrorism," he said. This heinous act, which resulted in the deaths of several innocent people, sparked nationwide outrage. The Prime Minister noted that the attack united the country in calling for swift and decisive action against terror.
He emphasized that, in the aftermath of the attack, every citizen, every political party, and every section of society stood together with one voice in demanding that the government take immediate and effective action against terrorists. "India's response was clear-we gave full freedom to our armed forces to obliterate terrorist cells and their infrastructure," PM Modi said.
Operation Sindoor: A Message to Terrorism
PM Modi outlined the goals of Operation Sindoor, which was aimed at destroying terrorist training camps and infrastructure within Pakistan. He noted that the operation had left terrorists stunned, as they had never imagined that India could carry out such a devastating strike. "The attack on terrorist camps in Pakistan was a clear message to those who think they can harm our country. The result of attacking our daughters' and mothers' dignity is now evident to every terrorist group," he stated.
Operation Sindoor saw India's armed forces targeting key terror hubs, including Bahawalpur and Muridke, which have long been associated with global terrorism. The Prime Minister proudly declared that more than 100 terrorists were eliminated in the attack, sending a clear signal that India would no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism.
While acknowledging Pakistan's response to the operation, PM Modi noted that Pakistan, instead of addressing terrorism within its borders, chose to escalate the situation by targeting Indian religious places, and other civilian areas. However, he emphasized that India's defense systems had successfully neutralised these threats, showcasing India's military might.
The Prime Minister further stated that Pakistan, after suffering significant losses, sought to de-escalate the situation by reaching out to India. In response, India temporarily suspended any further military action, signaling that the government would carefully assess Pakistan's future behavior before deciding on the next steps.
A New Policy Against Terrorism
PM Modi stressed that Operation Sindoor marked a new chapter in India's policy towards terrorism. "India will not tolerate any act of terror. The message is clear: if India is attacked by terrorists, we will respond with full force, on our terms," he declared. He outlined three key elements of India's new policy:
- Decisive Action: India will take swift and decisive action against terror camps and their supporters, regardless of where they are located.
- No Nuclear Blackmail: India will not tolerate nuclear blackmail. Terrorist sanctuaries will be destroyed with precision.
- Accountability: India will hold both the state sponsors of terrorism and terrorist leaders accountable for their actions.
PM Modi also addressed the international community, reiterating that any dialogue with Pakistan would be conditional on their action against terrorism and the issue of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
Shifting the Paradigm of Warfare
Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India's military capabilities have evolved. "Our weapons, developed under the 'Made in India' initiative, have proven their credibility on the global stage," he said, highlighting the importance of self-reliance in defense technology.
With Operation Sindoor, India not only demonstrated its strategic capabilities in traditional warfare but also proved its superiority in modern warfare, including the use of drones and missiles to target precise locations across the border.
A Call for Unity Against Terrorism
In his concluding remarks, PM Modi appealed to the nation to remain united in the fight against terrorism. "The unity of our people is our greatest strength. We must stand together to ensure that terror has no place in our country," he urged. He also emphasized that India's path forward would be one of strength and resolve, ensuring the safety and security of its citizens.
As India celebrates Buddha Purnima, PM Modi reiterated the importance of peace, stating, "True peace is achieved through strength. A powerful India is essential for the realization of a peaceful, prosperous, and secure future for all its citizens."
PM Modi concluded his address by once again saluting the armed forces for their bravery and dedication. "I salute the valor of our soldiers and the resolve of every Indian who stands united in the fight against terrorism," he said.
