PM Modi Renews Membership As BJP’s First Active Member
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has renewed his membership as the first active member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He expressed pride in becoming the first Sakriya Sadasya and launching the Sakriya Sadasyata Abhiyan. This initiative aims to strengthen the party at the grassroots level and ensure effective contributions from party workers towards national progress.
BJP's Membership Drive
On September 2, PM Modi initiated the BJP's 2024 membership drive, 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024'. He urged party workers to engage with youth and highlighted that this drive would align with implementing a 33% reservation in legislative assemblies and Parliament. Modi emphasised that BJP is committed to following democratic processes properly.

The membership drive has seen significant participation. On its first day, 47 lakh members were registered. During the initial phase from September 2 to September 25, six crore members joined, reflecting people's faith in the party and its leadership. Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh alone accounted for over one crore new members each.
Regional Participation
Gujarat and Assam also showed strong numbers with 85 lakh and 50 lakh new members respectively. Smaller states like Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Arunachal Pradesh, and Tripura have maintained a good pace in enrolling new members. The party's reach is evident across various regions.
In order to become an active member, a Karyakarta must register 50 members either at a single booth or within a Vidhan Sabha seat. These active members will be eligible to contest elections for Mandal Committees and higher positions. They will also have numerous opportunities to work for the party in future endeavours.
Future Focus Areas
The second phase of 'Sadasyata Abhiyan' is scheduled from October 1-15. It will focus on areas lagging behind in membership registration such as Parliamentary Constituencies, Assembly Constituencies, Zilas, and Mandals. The aim is to ensure comprehensive 'Sadasyata enrollment' at every Shakti Kendra and Booth through detailed outreach efforts.
PM Modi stated that BJP is expanding its work to meet public expectations. The organisational structure developed during this period will support these efforts. "Adding momentum to our endeavour of making a Viksit Bharat!" he posted on X, highlighting the importance of this movement for national progress.
This initiative underscores BJP's commitment to strengthening its grassroots presence while engaging actively with citizens across India.
