The Prime Minister's message came shortly after Dhankhar posted his resignation letter on the social platform X, invoking Article 67(a) of the Constitution of India to vacate his office. The letter cited the need to prioritize health and follow medical advice for immediate withdrawal from active duty.

PM Modi's Acknowledgment of Dhankhar's Contributions

PM Modi has long recognized Jagdeep Dhankhar's contributions across various roles - from legal professional to Governor of West Bengal, and ultimately Vice President. The Prime Minister highlighted Dhankhar's dedication to public life and his steady role in India's democratic institutions.

Throughout Dhankhar's tenure, he enjoyed the strong support of the central government. In his resignation note, Dhankhar expressed gratitude to PM Modi and the Council of Ministers, calling their backing "invaluable" during his time in office. He also appreciated President Murmu's constant support and the productive working relationship they shared.

A Moment of Reflection and Transition

Jagdeep Dhankhar used the opportunity to reflect on the progress India has made under the Modi government, describing this phase as one of "unprecedented development and global recognition." He said serving during such a transformative time was both a privilege and a personal milestone.
