On Friday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 94 projects in Andhra Pradesh worth ₹58,000 crore. A major highlight was the resumption of building of the greenfield capital city of Amaravati, which is considered Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu's showpiece plan.

Modi launched 74 projects of ₹49,000 crore to construct Amaravati. These include key infrastructure such as the state Assembly, High Court, Secretariat, judicial quarters, and 5,200-family housing. The capital city will have a world-class transport grid spanning 320 km, complete with subsurface utilities and cutting-edge flood management technology.

The Amaravati land pooling infrastructure project will include 1,281 kilometres of roads with central medians, cycle lanes, and sophisticated utilities as part of the greenfield capital's layout.

The Prime Minister approved nine important Central government projects totalling ₹5,028 crore, in addition to the capital city plans. The ₹1,459 crore DRDO missile testing site at Nagayalanka, Krishna district, will contain a launch complex, radar facilities, electro-optical systems, and telemetry stations, enhancing India's strategic defence capabilities.

Other important projects include the ₹100 crore PM Unity Mall at Madhurawada in Visakhapatnam, aimed to promote national unity, and the 'One District One Product' initiative, which supports artisans and rural employment. The list also includes the ₹293 crore Guntakal Mallappa Gate rail overbridge and six national highway projects for ₹3,176 crore. These projects aim to widen roadways, establish elevated corridors, and reduce traffic bottlenecks.

The rail infrastructure segment received a boost with the inauguration of three projects costing 254 crore, comprising line doubling and tripling, and a rail-over-rail facility between Guntakal West and Mallappa Gate to relieve freight congestion.

Modi launched eight national highway projects worth ₹3,860 crore to connect religious and tourist places like Tirupati, Srikalahasti, Malakonda, and Udayagiri Fort, improving regional traffic and logistical efficiency.
