Fauda creators and executive producers Lior Raz and Avi Issacharoff are already familiar with their large Indian fan base. They had earlier travelled to India to promote the fourth season of the series at the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa in November 2022, where the first episode premiered for Asian audiences ahead of its worldwide Netflix release in 2023.

Speaking to Deadline during the festival, Raz said, "When Netflix first bought the show, we started to notice on social media that we were getting so many followers in India. We did not know what was happening, but we started to understand that we have a good relationship with the Indian audience."

From Israeli Television To Global Phenomenon

First released in 2015 on Israeli network Yes Oh, Fauda follows Doron Kavillio, portrayed by Raz, an undercover Israeli operative tracking high-value targets across the West Bank and Gaza. The show gained worldwide popularity after arriving on Netflix, turning into an international hit and attracting a particularly strong following in India.
