PM Modi's Efforts to Promote Global Peace and Harmony Through Lord Buddha's Teachings, Says Yogi Adityanath

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath recently highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to promote global peace using Lord Buddha's teachings. This statement was made during a meeting with a delegation led by Kotaro Nagasaki, Governor of Japan's Yamanashi Province, at Adityanath's official residence. An agreement was signed between Uttar Pradesh and Yamanashi Prefecture to enhance industrial cooperation, tourism, and vocational education.

PM Modi Advocates Peace Through Buddhas Message

The historical ties between India and Japan have been strong for over a thousand years. Adityanath noted that the relationship between Modi and former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has significantly boosted political, economic, and business ties. He emphasised the state's eagerness to collaborate with Japanese companies, highlighting Japan's role as a partner in the Global Investors Summit-2023.

Economic Cooperation and Trade

Adityanath mentioned that more than 1,400 Japanese companies are currently operating in India. Among these are seven major firms, including Mitsui Technologies and Honda Motors, which have operations in Uttar Pradesh. The economic partnership between India and Japan is robust, with bilateral trade reaching USD 22.854 billion in the 2023-24 financial year.

During this period, Japan exported goods worth USD 17.69 billion to India while importing USD 5.15 billion. The Chief Minister also informed the Japanese delegation about Uttar Pradesh's growing reputation as an expressway state. With the completion of the Ganga Expressway, the state will account for 55% of India's total expressways.

Technological Advancements and Infrastructure

Currently, five expressways spanning 1,130 km are operational in Uttar Pradesh. In the electronics and IT/ITES sectors, the state contributes approximately 45% of India's mobile manufacturing output. It also produces around 55% of mobile components nationwide. About 26% of India's mobile manufacturers operate in Uttar Pradesh, with over 200 ESDM companies based there.

The state government is actively developing clusters for semiconductor manufacturing and fab-units. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh is rapidly becoming a central hub for data centres in India. This development aligns with the state's vision to enhance its technological infrastructure.

Cultural and Strategic Ties

Governor Kotaro Nagasaki expressed satisfaction with the MoU and highlighted the spiritual and historical connections between Yamanashi Prefecture and Uttar Pradesh. He assured mutual cooperation in areas like skilled labour development, renewable energy, hydro power, and technology exchange.

Nagasaki conveyed to Adityanath that Japan considers him a close ally, referring to Japan as his "second home." The statement also noted that Adityanath spoke a few lines in Japanese during the meeting.

The MoU reflects Prime Minister Modi's dedication to collaborating with Quad countries based on shared democratic values for humanity's benefit. This partnership aims to strengthen ties between India and Japan further.
