PM Modi Meditation Program In Kanyakumari: Over 2,000 Security Personnel Deployed; No Tourists Allowed

Prime Minister Narendra Modi's upcoming 48-hour stay at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial in Kanyakumari will see unprecedented security measures. The PM intends to meditate at the mid-sea monument, named after the revered Hindu saint Swami Vivekananda, from the evening of May 30 to June 1.

The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) has petitioned against the PM's visit, citing the election model code of conduct and the busy tourism season. The beach will be closed to tourists, and private boat services will be suspended from Thursday to Saturday to ensure the PM's safety and security.

The southernmost district of India will witness a massive security operation involving around 2,000 police personnel, supplemented by various security agencies.
