PM Modi Joins Trump's Truth Social, Highlights Strong Bond With US President: 'Thank You My Friend''

Prime Minister Narendra Modi joined Truth Social, the social media platform owned by US President Donald Trump, on Monday.

"Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come," the Prime Minister posted in his first message on the platform.

Earlier in the day, Trump shared a video link on Truth Social featuring Modi's interview with US-based podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman.

During the three-hour discussion, which aired on Sunday, Modi spoke about his rapport with Trump, stating that they share a strong connection as both prioritise their respective countries. He emphasised that their mutual trust remained steadfast even when the Republican leader was out of office during Joe Biden's presidency.

When asked about his views on the US President, Modi recalled an incident from Trump's first term when he agreed to disregard security protocols and take a lap around the stadium during the 'Howdy Modi' event in Houston.

"I was touched by his courage and his trust in me," he said, adding that Trump displayed similar bravery following the recent assassination attempt on him during his presidential campaign.

The Prime Minister further noted that Trump's "America First" policy aligns with his own vision of "Nation First" or "India First", which strengthens their connection.

Truth Social was launched by Trump in 2022 after he was banned from major social media platforms, including Facebook and X, following the attack on the US Capitol in 2021.
