PM Modi In Maharashtra Attacks Congress, Says Grand Old Never Let Dalits, OBCs Progress

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday slammed Congress for neglecting the OBCs and Dalits since independence. Addressing a sea of supporters in Chimur, PM Modi blamed Congress of hindering the progress of backward classes and adivasis. Wooing the voters, Prime Minister attacked the grand old party saying "shahi parivar" believed they were destined to rule India.

The Prime Minister also recalled Congress's old advertisement during Rajiv Gandhi's leadership and termed it as evidence of their anti-reservation stance. He also "Ek rahenge toh safe rahenge," slogan urging tribal communities to unite, while accusing Congress is continuously trying to divide Adivasis into castes to weaken them.

According to him, such division would erode their identity and strength.

The Prime Minister warned against falling into what he described as a Congress conspiracy and stressed staying united for safety and strength. He also highlighted financial assistance provided by the BJP-led government to soybean farmers.

Development and Election Manifesto

Highlighting the BJP's commitment to development, PM Modi emphasised that their 'Sankalp Patra' or election manifesto guarantees Maharashtra's progress. He noted that the Mahayuti alliance in Maharashtra and the BJP-NDA coalition at the Centre represent a "double-raftaar" or double speed of development.

The Prime Minister pointed out various developmental achievements in Maharashtra over the past 2.5 years. He mentioned increased foreign investment, new airports, expressways, Vande Bharat trains, and railway station transformations. He criticised Congress and Aghadi for stalling development efforts in Chandrapur.

Maharashtra Assembly Elections

Maharashtra will hold its assembly elections on November 20 in a single phase, with vote counting scheduled for November 23. The opposition MVA coalition aims to regain power from the Mahayuti alliance, which includes Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, BJP, and Ajit Pawar-led NCP.

In the 2019 Maharashtra elections, BJP secured 105 seats in 2019 and 122 seats in 2014. Shiv Sena won 56 seats in 2019 and 63 seats in 2014, while Congress obtained 44 seats in 2019 and 42 seats in 2014.
