PM Modi Hails India-Saudi Ties as Pillar of Stability in a Shifting World

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded Saudi Arabia as a trusted friend and strategic ally, noting that India-Saudi ties have deepened significantly since the launch of the Strategic Partnership Council in 2019.

"Our partnership holds limitless potential. In a world full of uncertainties, our bond stands as a pillar of stability," Modi told Arab News in an interview ahead of his third visit to the Kingdom since 2016.

He praised Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman as a visionary leader and a driving force behind bilateral relations. "Every meeting with His Royal Highness has been impactful. His forward-thinking approach and commitment to his people's aspirations are truly admirable," Modi said.

The Prime Minister highlighted shared economic goals and emphasized growth in bilateral trade despite global headwinds. Energy, agriculture, and fertilizers remain core sectors, while Modi welcomed stronger collaboration in emerging areas such as green hydrogen and technology.

"Indian companies continue to maintain a strong presence across multiple sectors in Saudi Arabia," he added.

He also expressed pride in Saudi Arabia's successful bids to host the World Expo 2030 and the 2034 FIFA World Cup. Modi noted that expanding defence cooperation and joint military exercises reflect deepening strategic trust between the two nations.

Referring to the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor launched at the G20 Summit in 2023, Modi called it a game-changer for regional trade, connectivity, and development.
