PM Modi bats for farmers in Gorakhpur, says 2nd green revolution from East UP

Gorakhpur, July 22: In the run up to upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday, July 22, visited Gorakhpur distrcit in eastern part of the state.

PM Modi visited Gorakhnath Temple, where he offered prayers in the morning and unveiled the statue of Mahant Avaidyanath in the temple.

In a brief address to the saints in the state, PM Modi said, "It's my privilege that I had the opportunity to unveil the statue of Avaidyanathji who is inspiration to all."

"This land is special. Be it Gautam Budhha, Mahavir or Kabir, they all have had an unbreakable bond with this land in some way or other", he said.

"One's who have had the opportunity to serve this land have always given their best. Mahant Avaidyanath ji contribution to this is immense", he further said.

"Saints, spiritual leaders can play an important role in making India prosper & modern. And many are already doing it", Modi said.

PM also said, "Our saints and seers are very noble and have always been compassionate towards society and the poor."

"I have also come to know about saints who contributed in campaign to build toilets, encourage their followers to do that", he added.

Highlights: PM addresses rally in Gorakhpur

PM Narendra Modi addressed a massive rally in Gorakhpur today, where he said, "It would be wrong to say that work of a factory which was closed for 26 years has been started because of me".

Amid a huge round of applause from the public, Modi said, "If you had not voted for us then this work which was pending since 26 years, still would have been pending."

"Credit goes solely to you as you are the ones who brought us to power & strengthened our hands", he said.

"Debate on rise in inflation is quite common in our nation, but when important decisions are taken by the Government, it's not discussed", he said.

On Farmers

"We decided to give farmers as much urea as they want, but will try to work on shut down factories also", PM said.

"If we have to develop India, the chariot of development needs to run on two wheels- Eastern and Western India", he said.

"Second green revolution is going to happen in eastern India and eastern UP, want eastern side to develop", Modi said.

The grand event as attended by BJP MP Yogi Adityananth, UP BJP chief Keshav Prasad Maurya, senior party ministers Piyush Goyal, Ananth Kumar, JP Nadda and Apna Dal leader Anupriya Patel.
