PM Modi Gifts Maharishi Valmiki Airport To Ayodhya, Phase 2 To Introduce International Flights

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the much-awaited Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, on Saturday, following the launch of the revamped Ayodhya railway station and the commencement of two Amrit Bharat and six Vande Bharat trains, some virtually.

Phase 1 of this advanced airport was developed at a cost exceeding Rs 1450 crore, featuring a terminal building spanning 6,500 sqm, designed to accommodate around 10 lakh passengers annually. The terminal's exterior reflects the architectural style of Ayodhya's upcoming Ram Mandir.

Inside, the terminal showcases local art, paintings, and murals portraying the life of Lord Ram. It's also equipped with sustainable elements such as insulated roofing, LED lighting, rainwater harvesting, landscaped areas with fountains, water treatment, sewage treatment plants, and a solar power system, adhering to GRIHA - 5-star standards.

This airport is poised to enhance connectivity in the region, fostering increased tourism, business growth, and employment opportunities.

Modi's vision encompasses developing contemporary, top-tier infrastructure in Ayodhya, augmenting connectivity, and enhancing civic amenities while honoring the city's rich historical and cultural heritage.

Moreover, the laying of foundation stones for various upcoming projects will further contribute to the beautification and enhancement of civic facilities in and around the temple town.
