PM Modi Flags off 2 Vande Bharat Express Trains

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday flagged off two new Vande Bharat Express trains in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh. The trains, which will connect Gorakhpur and Lucknow, and Jodhpur and Ahmedabad, are the latest addition to the country's fleet of semi-high speed trains.

The Gorakhpur-Lucknow Vande Bharat Express is a blue-and-white train that will cover the distance between the two cities in just three hours. The train has eight coaches, seven of which are air-conditioned and one of which is an executive chair car.

The Jodhpur-Sabarmati Vande Bharat Express will take four hours and 15 minutes to cover the distance between the two cities. The train has 12 coaches, all of which are air-conditioned.

As per Western Railway (WR), the semi-high-speed train will commence its journey from Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) at 4:45 pm and reach Jodhpur at 10:55 pm on the same day. The return journey from Jodhpur will start at 05:55 a.m. and arrive in Ahmedabad (Sabarmati) at 12:05 p.m., also on the same day.

The launch of the two new Vande Bharat Express trains is a major boost for rail connectivity in India. The trains will provide faster and more comfortable travel options for passengers, and they will also help to boost tourism in the regions they serve.

It must be noted that the Vande Bharat Express, India's semi-high-speed train, is now operational in all electrified railway states across the country. With a total of 46 services, the Vande Bharat Express has revolutionised train travel by offering state-of-the-art amenities and reducing passenger travel time. With the addition of these two new trains on July 7, the Vande Bharat Express will achieve a significant milestone of 50 services.

The inaugural Vande Bharat Express was launched by the Prime Minister on February 15, 2019, between New Delhi and Varanasi. Manufactured at the Integral Coach Factory (ICF) in Chennai, the train set exemplifies the 'Make-In-India' initiative and showcases India's engineering prowess.
