NDA Will Register Record Win Under Nitish Kumar's Leadership In Bihar Assembly Election: PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has officially endorsed Nitish Kumar as the chief ministerial candidate of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Bihar, putting to rest weeks of speculation about the alliance's leadership strategy. Speaking at a rally in the state, Modi praised Kumar's long political journey and asserted that the NDA, under his leadership, would "break all previous electoral records" in the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.

The Prime Minister's remarks came shortly after Tejashwi Yadav was declared the Mahagathbandhan's chief ministerial candidate, setting the stage for a direct face-off between two familiar rivals in Bihar politics.

Modi's Strategic Pitch and Kumar's Political Journey

Addressing a massive gathering, Modi recounted Nitish Kumar's rise to power in 2005, describing him as a leader who transformed Bihar amid difficult circumstances. He recalled how Kumar's early years as chief minister were marked by obstacles due to the then Congress-led UPA government at the Centre, which, he said, was often influenced by the RJD.

Modi, however, expressed full confidence that "this time, under Nitish ji's leadership, the NDA will achieve a record-breaking victory."

The endorsement not only signals the BJP's continued reliance on Kumar's regional appeal but also reflects a strategic effort to consolidate the NDA's base across Bihar's politically volatile constituencies.

Tejashwi Yadav's Counterattack: Questions Over BJP's Commitment

Responding swiftly, Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader and Mahagathbandhan's CM face, questioned the sincerity of Modi's endorsement. Speaking at a rally in Saharsa, Yadav claimed that despite the Prime Minister's public support, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP's top brass have avoided a clear commitment to reinstating Nitish as Chief Minister if the NDA wins.

"They talk about Nitish Kumar, but where is the guarantee that he will be made Chief Minister again?" Yadav asked, calling it "an injustice" to Kumar himself.

Yadav further accused the NDA of presiding over two decades of stagnation in Bihar, noting that despite 20 years of NDA governance in the state and 11 years of BJP rule at the Centre, Bihar continues to struggle with low per capita income, unemployment, and distressed farmers.

Battle Lines Drawn Ahead of November Polls

The Bihar Assembly elections will be held on November 6 and 11, with results to be declared on November 14. As campaigning gathers momentum, both alliances are attempting to energize their bases with sharply contrasting narratives - continuity versus change.

Yadav has promised "transformational governance within 20 months" if voted to power, while the NDA is emphasizing development, stability, and leadership unity under the Modi-Nitish partnership.

In a symbolic moment during his rally, Modi asked the crowd to switch on their mobile phone flashlights to counter the RJD's lantern symbol, declaring,

"When everyone has access to modern gadgets, there is no need for the lantern in this era of light."

With Nitish Kumar back as the face of the NDA and Tejashwi Yadav leading the opposition challenge, Bihar's political battleground is witnessing a clash of generations and ideologies.
