PM Modi Declared Most Popular Leader In World With 76% Approval Rating

Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the most popular global leader, a survey by Morning Consult said.

With a 76 per cent approval rating, the PM is ahead of global leaders such as US President Joe Biden and Switzerland's President Alain Berset. However, 18 per cent of the people have disapproved Indian Prime Minister's leadership at the global level.

He is followed by Switzerland President Alain Berset (64 per cent approval rating) and Mexico's Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (61 per cent approval rating).

Many leaders, including US President Joe Biden, British PM Rishi Sunak and French President Emmanuel Macron, have more people in their respective countries disapproving their leadership than those who approved

This rating comes just days after India successfully conducted the G20 Summit in India which was attended by most of the global leaders including US President Joe Biden.

According to Morning Consult, the most recent approval ratings were gathered between September 6 and 12. These ratings are determined using a seven-day moving average from adult residents in each country, with sample sizes that vary. In the United States, the average sample size is approximately 45,000, while in other countries, it ranges from about 500 to 5,000.

BJP leaders, including Home Minister Amit Shah, on Friday lauded the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi after a survey named him as the leader with the highest approval rating globally.

Citing the survey, Shah said Modi's popularity remains unrivalled among global leaders.

He said on X, "This is not only a testament to the success of the Modi doctrine in foreign policy but also a global recognition of Modi Ji's undeterred achievements in lifting millions out of poverty, selfless efforts to improve their living standards and people's unyielding trust in him."

BJP chief spokesperson Anil Baluni said, "PM Shri Narendra Modi remains the leader with the highest Global Approval Ratings after the historic success of Bharat's presidency of the G20 Summit 2023." Union minister Shobha Karandlaje said Modi stands out as an "unparalleled symbol of trust and leadership" on a global scale. "He is nothing short of inspirational in his exceptional dedication to empowering the marginalised and transforming the destinies of numerous individuals," she said.
