PM Modi attacks Congress in Karnataka, accuses party of aligning with anti-national forces
Prime Minister Narendra Modi stepped up his attack on the Congress and said that the 'shahi parivar' in Delhi wants to make Karnataka its No. 1 ATM. The PM was referring to the Gandhi family.
In contrast the BJP wants to take the state to new heights, the PM said at a rally in Mudbidri. The BJP wants to the state to become the top industrial, agricultural, fisheries hub. We are working on it, he also said.

He also termed the Congress as 'shanti ki dushman, vikas ki dushman' (enemy of peace and development). All states want progress, but for that you need to boot out the Congress and say, 'bas bhaiya, bahut ho gaya'."
He also said that the Congress aligns with anti-nationals and takes help from anti-India forces for the elections. They take back cases against anti-nations and they shield terror backers, he said.
The PM said that Karnataka is a fast-growing state, a leader in IT, and is an epicentre of tech-driven-start-ups. Despite the impressive post 1990s growth profile, poverty in Karnataka continues to be the highest among the southern states, the PM also said.
The PM added that the Congress insults and abuses the military and its soldiers. The Congress will push Karnataka back by decades. He also exuded confidence that the BJP will come back to power in the state with a majority. He said that he wants Karnataka to become the Number One state in the country.
The Prime Minister will address three rallies in the state. He will also take part in a rally in Karwar and Belagavi. Union Minister Nitin Gadkari is also in the state as part of the party's campaign for the May 10 elections, the results of which will be out on May 13.
