Pulwama attack 4th anniversary: List of 40 martyred CRPF jawans

New Delhi, Feb 14: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday remembered the "valorous" CRPF jawans who were killed in the terror attack in the Pulwama district of south Kashmir in February 2019.

"Remembering our valorous heroes who we lost on this day in Pulwama. We will never forget their supreme sacrifice. Their courage motivates us to build a strong and developed India," PM Modi tweeted.

Union Home Minister Amit Shah paid tribute on Twitter, saying that India can never forget their sacrifice. He posted, "I pay homage to the brave soldiers who laid down their lives in the ghastly terror attack in Pulwama on this day in the year 2019. The nation can never forget their sacrifice. Their valour and indomitable courage will always remain an inspiration in the fight against terrorism."

A 22-year-old suicide bomber Adil Ahmad Dar rammed an explosive-laden vehicle into a bus carrying 40 CRPF personnel on February 14, 2019, in the Pulwama district. The incident killed 40 Indian soldiers along with the perpetrator-Adil Ahmad Dar-who was a local Kashmiri youth.

India had carried out a strike on a JeM terrorist training camp in Pakistan''s Balakot area on February 26 last year, in response to the Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.
