PM Modi condoles demise of Kerala Assembly Speaker G Karthikeyan

New Delhi, Mar 7: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday condoled the demise of Kerala Assembly Speaker G Karthikeyan and said he will be remembered as a grassroots leader who dedicated his life to people.

"My condolences to the family and well-wishers of Kerala Assembly Speaker G Karthikeyan on his demise. May his soul rest in peace," he said.

Karthikeyan will be remembered as a grassroots leader, who dedicated his life to serving the people of Kerala, he added. Congress President Sonia Gandhi also expressed grief over Karthikeyan's demise.

Noting that Karthikeyan's political career spanned student, youth, legislative and administrative politics, Gandhi said the void left behind by him will be hard to fill.

She extended her condolences to the family and friends of the late leader.
