PM asks Brahma Kumaris to help spread use of digital transactions
He praised Brahma Kumar and Kumaris by saying that they have spread the message of India's rich culture throughout the world.
New Delhi, March 26: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 80th anniversary celebrations of Brahma Kumaris via video conferencing. He began his speech by extending greetings to all citizens on Cheti Chand and Samvatsari.

He praised Brahma Kumar and Kumaris by saying that they have spread the message of India's rich culture throughout the world. He added that Dadi Janki continues to inspire the society. He said that India has always said that God is one. There may be different forms of worshipping God.
He also talked about the way in which Brahma Kumaris have taken forward the reach of solar energy actively. He said that by 2030 India aims to generate 40 percent energy from non-fossil fuels. By 2022, our aim is to ensure 175 GW of clean energy is produced.
He said about Rs. 11,000 crore has been saved by the use of LED bulbs. Brahma Kumaris organisation can help spread this message. The PM said, "Exploitation of nature is a crime for us, we believe in milking of nature."
He also spoke about using digital transactions and said that, "Let us further the use of digital transaction and make the system more transparent. This will bring down corruption." He also urged Brahma Kumaris family, Central and State departments to come up with plans to ensure proper nutrition.
PM took the opportunity to inform the people that his government has amended the Maternity Bill and this will benefit working women as leaves have been enhanced from 12 to 26 weeks.
He concluded by saying that, "Dadiji & Brahma Kumaris have contributed towards Swachhata. Let us aim to build a Swachh Bharat that will be a tribute to Gandhiji."
