Pleasant morning greets Delhiites on I-Day

New Delhi, Aug 15: Soothing westerly winds greeted Delhi residents this morning as the Prime Minister unfurled the national flag at Red Fort to celebrate the country's 68th Independence Day.

The morning was pleasant compared to sultry weather conditions in the last few days, with the humidity settling at 69 per cent as against yesterday's 73 per cent. The weatherman has predicted partly cloudy skies and rains or thundershowers in some areas.

No rainfall was recorded till 8 AM and the temperature recorded was 21.6 degrees Celsius, a notch above normal, a MeT department official said. The maximum and minimum temperature will be around 35 degrees Celsius and 26 degree Celsius, respectively.

Yesterday, the maximum temperature recorded was 35.7 degree Celsius, two notches above normal, and the minimum settled at 27.4 degrees Celsius.
