Piracy: Udta Punjab now being hosted by over 700 websites
Hyderabad, June 17: The anti-piracy wing of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce has cited the illegal link to watch the controversial 'Udta Punjab' in over 732 sites.
"It is clear that the movie is a copy that was submitted to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) for certification," said the head of the anti-piracy team in Hyderabad. Incidentally, the film which got the CBFC certification on Wednesday, was available on the Internet on the same day.

AS soon as this came to the notice of the filmmakers, a complaint was lodged with the cyber crime cell of the Mumbai police. Kumar further added, "We were also contacted to identify the sites on which it is available. We are now getting them removed."
However, the work is humungous as the sites that have been identified may remove the link, but there are other sites who host it simultaneously. Interestingly, the full 2 hr 20 minutes of the film got leaked on the net even as it was scheduled to be released on Friday. The pirated film too was made available on the DVD in Mumbai. Even the writing 'For the Censor' has not been removed from the print. This leaves no doubt that the movie was leaked from with the Censor Board quarters.
The anti-piracy wing is now providing all the information to the filmmakers so that appropriate action can be taken.
Incidentally, this is not the first film that got leaked on the Internet. Earlier 40 minutes of a Pawan Kalyan-starrer 'Attarintiki Daredi' was found on the Internet before it got released in September 2013. It was finally revealed that someone involved in the editing of the film was responsible for the leak.
Filmmakers were extremely precautious during the release of the film 'Baahubali' last year. The anti-piracy wing found a pirated portion of the film online on the day of the release and got it removed immideately.
