PIL seeks action against website "glorifying" Godse
Mumbai, Nov 16: A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) seeking a direction to Maharashtra government to register an offence against the persons behind a website "glorifying" Mahatma Gandhi's assassin Nathuram Godse was filed in the Bombay High Court today.
The petition, filed by activist Ketan Tirodkar, sought a direction to the state government and the Additional Chief Secretary (Home) to register an offence against those behind the website under section 121 of IPC which pertains to waging war against nation.

The petitioner said that the act of launching the website, "http://www.menathuramgodse.com", amounted to committing the offence of waging war against the nation.
The petition said, the wesite’s home page claims to have revealed a true account of 'Why he killed Gandhi'.
The PIL is expected to come up for hearing in due course. The Hindu Mahasabha had yesterday commemorated the 66th death anniversary of Godse as 'Balidan Divas' and launched a website on his life.
Attacking attempts to Gorify Gandhi's assassins, Congress workers burnt an effigy at Thane. BJP and its ideological fountaihead RSS, however, distanced themselves from Hindu Mahasabha's programme.
