New Delhi, Oct 3: The President Pranab Mukherjee arrived in Brussels on Wednesday night at the start of a six-day official visit to Europe.
According to reports, he will be visiting Belgium and Turkey and education will be the focus of his maiden trip to Europe after taking over as the head of the state.
Mukherjee was escorted by the HM King Philippe, The King of Belgium and Queen Mathilde at the military airport of Melsbroek.
The President is accompanied by daughter Sharmistha Mukherjee and a high-level official delegation that includes Union Shipping Minister GK Wasan, five MPs, three vice chancellors, Prof Ved Prakash, chairman, University Grants Commission (UGC) and senior foreign ministry officials.
