Lucknow, Oct 12: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday attended the Dussehra celebrations in Lucknow. He was received by Uttar Pradesh Governor Ram Naik and Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav on his arrival.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, the elected Lok Sabha member from Lucknow, and some state Bharatiya Janata Party leaders were also present at the airport.

More than 2,500 police personnel have been deployed for the prime ministerial visit to the state capital to take part in Dusshehra celebrations at Aishbagh. It is the first time that any prime minister is attending in the 70-year-old Ram Leela in the city.
