(Pics) Bhutan royals visit India, stay at Rashtrapati Bhavan
New Delhi, Jan 8: The King and Queen of Bhutan-Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Jetsun Pema Wangchuck are on a visit to India is significant in many ways.
While political experts are interested in bilateral ties and suggest that their visit may strengthen and expand it in many ways, there are others who are more excited about their accommodation here.
On the invitation of the President of India Pranab Mukherjee, the Royal couple would be residing at the Dwarka Suite of the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Interestingly, they would be the first foreign heads to do so, after two decades.
The Royal entourage also includes the Foreign Minister, Home Minister and Economic Affairs Minister. Sources say that the couple will meet the President of India, the Prime Minister, Vice President of India, Finance Minister, Chairperson of the UPA, External Affairs Minister, Home Minister, and the Leader of the Opposition.
India and Bhutan share a unique relation of close friendship, mutual trust and deep understanding. The Royal couple would be staying in India from January 6 to January 10.
