Petrol price cut by Rs 1.82 per litre; Diesel price hiked

New Delhi, Aug 30: Here is a happy news ! Government-controlled oil marketing companies today announced a cut in petrol and non-subsidised LPG prices while announcing a monthly increase in diesel price.

Petrol prices will be cut by Rs 1.82 per litre from midnight tonight. The diesel price, however, has been hiked by 50 paise.

Ever since the new government came to power, this is the third reduction in fuel prices. Prior to Independence Day, the petrol prices were slashed by Rs 1.89 per litre.

Reducing fuel prices was one of the agendas of the Bharatiya Janata Party. the party had promised to bring down fuel prices during its election campaigns.
