Petrol, Diesel Prices Hiked Again Amid Iran-US War - Check New Rates In Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai

Fuel prices have risen once again, marking the third increase in just two weeks as inflationary pressures mount and global crude oil costs continue to climb amid the ongoing conflict in Iran.

Petrol has gone up by 87 paise per litre, while diesel has risen by 91 paise. Following the latest revision, petrol is now priced at Rs 99.51 per litre and diesel at Rs 92.49 per litre in New Delhi.

This marks the third hike in a fortnight. Prices were first raised by Rs 3 per litre on 15 May, followed by another increase of 90 paise on 19 May. In total, fuel costs have surged by nearly Rs 5 per litre over the past two weeks.

Officials say the repeated increases are linked to higher crude import costs, with the government under pressure to offset losses as global oil prices soar due to the Iran war. Dealers confirm that the latest revision has pushed petrol in the capital to Rs 99.51 per litre and diesel to Rs 92.49 per litre.

The hikes are expected to ripple across the economy, driving up transportation costs and adding to household expenses. Analysts warn that the sustained rise in fuel prices will intensify inflationary pressures, affecting consumers and businesses alike as essential goods and services become more expensive.
