People will hit the streets: Trinamool on summons to Mukul Roy
Kolkata, Jan 12: Angry at the CBI for summoning its leader Mukul Roy in connection with the Saradha scam probe, the Trinamool Congress Monday said people would hit the streets and there would be protests in every block of the state against the BJP's "misuse" of the investigating agency.
"The CBI has become a frontal office for the BJP. People will hit the streets against the political vindictiveness of the BJP," Trinamool secretary general Partha Chatterjee told reporters.

"Party workers, supporters and common people will protest against the BJP's misuse of the CBI in every block of the State," he said.
However, Chatterjee urged Trinamool workers not to indulge in road blockades and shutdowns. "We will protest politically against the BJP."
Earlier in the day, the Central Bureau of Investigation asked former railway minister Roy to appear before it for questioning with regard to the multi-billion-rupee chit fund scandal, which is said to have affected 1.7 million people in the state.
