Patna serial blasts: NIA arrests another suspect from Ranchi

, Oct 31: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths, who were in Ranchi for the past three days, on Wednesday arrested a person from Doranda here for his alleged involvement in the

serial blasts.

The investigation agency has also obtained a three-day transit remand for him from a local court. NIA personnel took Ujjair Ahmad with them after arresting him in connection with the Patna serial blasts case, Director General of Police Rajeev Kumar said. Ahmad was produced before the court of Ranchi Chief Judicial Magistrate H S Jha, who granted NIA's plea to take him in remand.

The NIA was assisted by the Ranchi police to arrest Ahmed, the police sources said. The team reached Ranchi on Monday, a day after the serial blasts in Patna when BJP's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi addressed a rally there.
