Path for united opposition is clear in 2019: RLD
Tabassum Hasan, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) candidate from Kairana Lok Sabha constituency, reiterated that future elections should not be conducted on EVM machines.

Tabassum Hasan, who is leading in Kairana, said, "This is the victory of truth. I still stand by what I said, there has been a conspiracy and we do not want any future elections to be conducted on EVM machines."
She also said, "The path for united opposition is clear in 2019."
RLD's Tabassum Hasan leading by over 19900 votes over BJP's Mriganka Singh after eight round of counting.
The Kairana seat fell vacant after the death of BJP MP Hukum Singh, whose daughter Mriganka Singh is now the party candidate. Singh's main contest is against Rashtriya Lok Dal's Tabassum Hasan, who is also supported by the Congress, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
Today's bypoll results would be closely watched as it may give a fair idea to the opposition if they can take on the BJP's might in 2019 by joining hands.
