Bihar News: Folk Art Exhibition in PSK, Patna- (25 July - 15 August 2025)
'Saha-Loka', a folk art exhibition at Passport Seva Kendra Patna, features Bihar's artistic traditions from 25 July to 15 August 2025, enhancing the passport application experience.
For the first time across India, a Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) is embellishing the experience of availing passport services for its applicants through an artistic experience. PSK Patliputra in Patna under Regional Passport Office Patna--in collaboration with Indian Council for Cultural Relations' Regional Office in Patna--both offices of Ministry of External Affairs, is opening its doors to welcome artists to exhibit their art within the PSK premises to around 1500 passport applicants that come everyday.

The first in these series is an exhibition of folk paintings of Bihar titled 'Saha-Loka'. The art works on display are curated by Sh. Sunil Kumar and his team of Folkartopedia Foundation under the aegis of ICCR RO Patna's Horizon Series Program and will be exhibited from 25 July to 15 August 2025 from 10 am to 5 pm. The exhibition will be inaugurated by Chief Guest Smt. Shanti Devi, Padma Shri for Madhubani Painting; and Guest of Honour Sh. Col. Rahul Sharma, Director of NIFT Patna in the presence of Smt. Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer and Regional Director of ICCR and distinguished artists of Bihar. While the exhibition is restricted to only passport applicants with valid appointments, visit on request will be facilitated by either writing at least one day in advance to [email protected] or [email protected].
'Saha-Loka' painting exhibition is an attempt to appreciate the shared culture of folk-art traditions of Bihar. In form and content, Saha-Loka exudes the eternal truth of the inner feelings woven in folk society with paintings of Mithila art, Godna art, Manjusha art and Tikuli art, which are a depiction of symbolism and manifestation of those same feelings. The folk society in these paintings are presented with representative elements before the audience and spectators so that they can meet them and emote with them.
Realized with the novelty of presentation in traditional artistic style and the excitement of thematic contemporaneity, 'Saha-Loka' embraces senior and young folk artists of Bihar. The 9 participating artists will offer an artistic spectacle of Godna, Manjusha, Madhubani and Tikuli paintings to the people of Bihar visiting PSK for passport services.
