Passenger Finds Cockroach Rolled Into Roti In Meal Served On Vande Bharat Express, IRCTC Responds
Carrying your own food during a train journey is common in India, as the quality of food served by the Indian Railways is not always top-notch. However, one passenger was left shocked after finding a cockroach in his meal on the Vande Bharat Express.
The passenger, who was traveling from Bhopal to Gwalior, took to Twitter to share images of the cockroach-infested food. The images, depicting a small cockroach embedded in one of the rotis, quickly went viral, sparking outrage among social media users.

The Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), which is responsible for catering on trains, responded to the complaint and apologised for the incident. IRCTC said that it would take "appropriate actions" to ensure that such incidents do not happen again.

The incident comes just days after another passenger on the Vande Bharat Express refused to use tea packets with "Halal" certification. The man, who is a Hindu, claimed that he did not want to consume food that had been certified as halal, as he believed that it was not vegetarian.
We did not intend for this unpleasant experience. Appropriate actions will be taken to ensure that such incidents will not repeat. Request you to share PNR and mobile number preferably in Direct Message (DM) with us.
