Parroting Malicious Ideology Of Christian Missionaries: Annamalai On Udhayanidhi's 'Sanatana Dharma' Remarks

Tamil Nadu BJP Chief K Annamalai has slammed DMK Minister Udhayanidhi Stalin over his controversial comments on 'Sanatana Dharma', accusing his party of parroting the malicious ideology of Christian Missionaries.

Junior Stalin sparked off a controversy on Saturday after comparing Sanatana Dharma with Dengue and Malaria.

"The only resolve that the Gopalapuram Family has is to accumulate wealth beyond the State GDP. Thiru @Udhaystalin, you, your father, or his or your idealogue have a bought-out idea from Christian missionaries & the idea of those missionaries was to cultivate dimwits like you to parrot their malicious ideology," Annamalai said on X (formerly known as Twitter).

The BJP state chief further said, "Tamil Nadu is a land of spiritualism. The best you can do is to hold a Mic in an event like this & rant out your frustration!"

What Did Udhayanidhi Stalin Say?
Addressing a gathering on Saturday, the son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, said, "There are some things which we have to eradicate and we can't merely oppose. Mosquitoes, dengue fever, malaria, corona, all these are things which we cannot oppose, we have to eradicate them. Sanatanam is also like this."

The minister was speaking at an event organised by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Artists Association on the theme of 'eradication of Sanatana'.

"I thank the organisers of this conference for giving me the opportunity to deliver a special address. You have kept the name of the conference as 'Sanatana Abolition Conference' rather than 'Anti-Sanatana Conference', I appreciate that," news agency ANI quoted Udhayanidhi as saying.

"A few things cannot be opposed, that should be abolished only. We can't oppose dengue, mosquitoes, malaria, or corona. We have to eradicate this, that's how we have to eradicate Sanatana. Rather opposing Sanatana it should be eradicated," Udhayanidhi was quoted as saying.

"The name Sanatana is from Sanskrit. It is against Social Justice and equality," he added.

On DMK Minister 'Sanatana Dharma should be eradicated' remark, Tamil Nadu BJP Vice President Narayanan Thirupathy said, "This is not new for DMK. For them, good things are bad and bad things are good. 'Sanatana Dharma' is eternal. DMK is a communal party that hops on the vote bank of Muslims and Christians because they vote religiously. The votes of these communities are decided at their respective worship places, whereas Hindus don't vote like that. DMK is like a cancer, it will be treated by the principles of 'Sanatana Dharma'..."
