Parliaments Special Session To Shift To New Building From Ganesh Chaturthi

Soon after speculations started doing rounds that the government was setting up a high level committee to examine the possibility of 'One Nation, One Election' and this could be the last session of the parliament in the current building.

According to the media reports, the session will have five sittings and members will be informed about the provisional calendar separately.

Meanwhile, earlier today former Congress Chief Sonia Gandhi wrote a letter to PM Modi stating that the special session of parliament has been announced without disclosing the agenda.

Sonia Gandhi's letter to PM Modi read, "I must point out that this special session has been convened without any consultation with other political parties. None of us have any idea of its agenda. All we have been communicated is that all five days have been allocated for government business."

Reportedly, Sonia Gandhi's letter to PM Modi came after the the term "Bharat" was used instead of "India" in official G20 Summit invitations. The term 'Bharat' also sparked speculations over the name change of the country.

Gandhi also appealed to the Prime Minister to conduct discussions in connection with Centre-state relationship, communalism and border conflict with China during the special session.

"I earnestly hope that in a spirit of constructive cooperation, these issues will be taken up in the forthcoming special session," she added.

As per the media reports, special arrangements being made for a group photo of MPs also added fuel to the fire, though some people suggested it could be because of a possible shift to the new parliament building.
