Prime Minister quoted BR Ambedkar, stating, "Babasaheb Ambedkar said it's not as if India was unaware of democracy." This underscores India's longstanding familiarity with democratic principles.

Modi also mentioned Rajendra Prasad, India's first president, who had observed that the constitutional framework was not alien to the country. This reference emphasises India's historical connection to democratic governance and its foundational principles.

Women's Empowerment in Indian Democracy

The Prime Minister expressed pride in India's early decision to grant voting rights to women. He described this as a significant achievement in the nation's democratic journey. Modi's remarks highlight India's commitment to gender equality from the outset of its democracy.

Emphasising further on gender equality, PM Modi stated that India is pursuing a model of "women-led development." He pointed out the significance of having Droupadi Murmu as the President of India. This milestone reflects progress in women's representation in leadership roles.

"The representation of women is steadily rising," added the Prime Minister. His statement indicates ongoing efforts to enhance women's participation in various sectors across the nation.

Through these discussions, PM Modi showcased India's dedication to upholding democratic values and promoting gender equality. The references to historical figures like Ambedkar and Prasad reinforce India's enduring commitment to these ideals.

Abrogation Of Article 370:

PM Modi added that for the unity of the country, abrogation of Article 370 was must. "Since it was challenging our unity, we removed it".
