Parbhani Temple Tragedy: 3 Feared Dead, Dozens Trapped After Sabha Mandap Roof Collapse

A major accident occurred at the Yashwadi Maruti Temple in Maharashtra's Parbhani district on Saturday when the roof of an under-construction sabha mandap suddenly collapsed, trapping dozens of devotees under the debris.

According to PTI reports, at least 3 people are feared dead, while around 30 to 40 devotees are believed to be trapped. Rescue teams, police personnel and district officials rushed to the spot and launched an emergency rescue operation.

Authorities have not yet officially confirmed the number of deaths or injuries as rescue efforts continue.

Roof Collapses During Heavy Crowd Gathering

The incident took place at the under-construction sabha mandap located in front of the Yashwadi Maruti Temple. A large number of devotees had gathered at the temple premises when the structure unexpectedly gave way.

Being a Saturday, the temple witnessed a higher-than-usual footfall, resulting in a significant number of people being present near the construction site at the time of the collapse.

The sudden accident created panic among devotees, with people rushing to safety while others became trapped beneath the fallen structure.

Several Devotees Feared Trapped Under Debris

Initial reports indicate that around 30 to 40 devotees may still be trapped under the rubble. Rescue personnel are working to remove debris and locate those who may be stuck beneath the collapsed roof.

Several people are believed to have suffered serious injuries and have been pulled out from the debris during the ongoing operation.
