Parag Desai's Death: Facts About Ahmedabad Industrialist
Parag Desai, the executive director of Wagh Bakri Group, passed away at a private hospital in Ahmedabad on Sunday at the age of 49. Parag represented the fourth generation of the Desai family, responsible for overseeing the company's operations.
His friend and industrialist Dr Sudhir Mehta, said that Desai died due to a brain hemorrhage after a fall when he was desperately trying to escape an attack by street dogs.

- Son of Rasesh Desai, Parag Desai was the managing director of Wagh Bakri Tea Group which was founded by Narandas Desai in 1892.
- He is survived by his wife Vidisha and daughter Parisha.
- He obtained MBA degree Long Island University, New York.
- Desai joined Wagh Bakri in 1995. A seasoned tea taster and evaluator, Desai spearheaded the group's sales, marketing, and export divisions.
- "I believe, as a fourth-generation entrepreneur, I have been very lucky to have learnt from my elders. Also, I have taken a very formal, strict education overseas and in India. I have had the good opportunity of merging both these learnings to leading the company into the next generation," he had told Moneycontrol in an earlier interview.
- In addition to his involvement in the family business, Desai had associated with the Blind People's Association (BPA) in Ahmedabad and the Jivdaya Charitable Trust, an institution that operates an animal hospital in the city.
