Panipat train blast:Terror not ruled out
New Delhi, May 14: The police are studying the similarities between the blasts that took place on a train at Panipat. While one blast took place late on Thursday night, the other by the SIMI had taken place on January 15 this year.
The police investigating the case do not rule out a terror angle and say that both the blasts on the same train were identical in nature.

A blast had occurred on a Delhi- Panipat train on Thursday night and the investigators have learnt that the bomb was planted when the train was leaving from Delhi.
The explosive device looks like had been assembled by a novice since he had failed to set the timer correctly. Fortunately the timer was not set correctly, a police official said. Had it been correct then it could have caused more damage the officer also said.
The officer also said that the blast is similar to the one that took place in January this year. A similar device had been used and the bomb was low intensity in nature.
The NIA had suspected that this could have been the handiwork of a SIMI module. The NIA had also suspected that the SIMI operatives who had fled from the Madhya Pradesh jail could have been behind this incident.
