Panel formed for land acquisition for Lucknow metro: UP Government

Lucknow, June 30: The Uttar Pradesh government today said that a committee had been constituted for acquiring private land, if required, for the Lucknow Metro Rail Project.

"A committee has been constituted under the Lucknow Divisional Commissioner for purchasing land, if required, for the metro project. The committee will talk to land owners and purchase land," Housing department secretary Rajiv Agarwal told reporters here.

He said that a layout of the acquisition plan would be prepared within next 10 days, and added that the work on the project will start from October and its first phase is expected to be completed by December 2016.
