Pakistan President Reveals Anxiety Amid India Strikes

India's response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack - which claimed 26 innocent lives - became a defining moment in the nation's security doctrine. Instead of emotional retaliation, New Delhi demonstrated precision, patience, and power, signalling that terrorism will never go unanswered.

A Response Based on Strategy, Not Reaction

With nationwide calls demanding decisive action, India's leadership opted for a measured plan. In the early hours of May 7, Operation Sindoor was executed - a calculated, intelligence-driven military action targeting select locations inside Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu & Kashmir.
Officials emphasised that the strikes were limited, controlled, and purposeful, showcasing that India can hit, and yet choose how far it escalates.

This was not a show of aggression - it was a demonstration of confidence.

India's Calm vs. Pakistan's Panic

While India's institutions remained composed and coordinated, developments across the border told a different story.

Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari, recounting events later, revealed that senior advisers urged him to take shelter in underground bunkers - reflecting how India's precision strikes created deep concern in Islamabad's leadership.

"Sir, the war has started. Let's go to the bunkers," Zardari said his Military Secretary told him.

Yet, India - even while responding firmly - maintained diplomatic maturity, avoiding loose rhetoric or public drama.

A Near Crisis, Defused With Leadership

Heavy cross-border shelling followed from the Pakistani side - but India, strongly positioned and prepared, maintained control.

De-escalation eventually began when Pakistan's DGMO called India's DGMO to request a ceasefire.
India agreed - not out of pressure, but out of strength and responsibility, preventing unnecessary loss of life and reaffirming its stance as a responsible regional power.

Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri later confirmed both sides paused operations on land, sea, and air.
