Islamabad, April 19: In a shocking incident, Pakistani TV

Hamid Mir was injured after he was shot at in

on Saturday.

According to Geo news, where Mir is a senior anchorperson, Mir was attacked by a bunch of motorcyclists who ambushed his vehicle. He is being treated for bullet injuries.

Mir was going from Karachi airport to his office when the incident happened. Pakistan is known as one of the countries most unsafe for journalists.

Mir currently hosts a political talk show, Capital Talk, on Geo Tv. He also writes columns for many newspapers. He became well known after he interviewed former al Qaeda chief Osama bin Laden. He has covered the Isreal-Lebanon conflict and has won Pakistan's top civilian award.
