Pahalgam Terrorist Attack: Indian Navy Officer Vinay Narwal Killed Just Days After Marriage

Indian Navy Officer Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, who had married just a week ago, was killed in a terrorist attack in the Pahalgam attack, in which over 26 people have died.

As per news agency ANI, Lieutenant Vinay Narwal, aged 26 years, was posted in Kochi. A native of Haryana, the young officer had married on 16 April, ANI said in a tweet citing Defence officials. Vinay was on leave.

Worst Terror Attack

In the worst terrorist attack on civilians in recent years in India, terrorists struck in the picturesque Baisaran in Pahalgam which is the favourite hotspot of tourists from across the country, gunning down 26 people and injuring several others, according to a report in PTI.

Two tourists each from Maharashtra and Karnataka, have been killed. The deceased are Manjunath from Shivamogga and Bharath Bhushan from Bengaluru.

PM Modi Condemns

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has strongly condemned the terror attack and expressed Condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. He said, "I pray that the injured recover at the earliest. All possible assistance is being provided to those affected. Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice...they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable and it will get even stronger."

The incident comes at a time when US Vice President JD Vance is on a four-day trip to India. He has offered condolences to the victims of the J&K terror attack.

In a post, he added: "Usha and I extend our condolences to the victims of the devastating terrorist attack in Pahalgam, India. Over the past few days, we have been overcome with the beauty of this country and its people. Our thoughts and prayers are with them as they mourn this horrific attack."
