Over 500 people from northeast enroll as Delhi voters

Delhi: Northeast people enroll for polls
New Delhi, March 12: The Election Commission received 550 new electoral forms after organising a day-long enrollment campaign for the people from the northeast here on Wednesday.

There are over 2.5 lakh voters from the northeastern states in the national capital.

The camp, organised in Chanakyapuri area of south Delhi, was a bid to woo the people from the northeast to take part in the electoral process.

On March 8, a campaign was organised across Delhi to raise awareness and increase the participation of women in the electoral process. A total of 5,000 forms were received by the commission.

The upcoming General Elections are going to be a game changer for the Congress, BJP and the AAP in Delhi especially after the recent attack on Nido Taniam from the northeast.
