Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed property cards to property owners in several states, including over 45 lakh cards in Uttar Pradesh. The distribution occurred through video-conferencing, reaching over 50,000 villages across 230 districts in 10 states and two Union territories.

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel attended the property card distribution event held in Barabanki district. Prime Minister Modi also engaged with beneficiaries of the scheme during this event. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath participated via video-conferencing from his official residence, highlighting the programme's significance under the Svamitva Yojana.

Property Card Distribution Impact

Chief Minister Adityanath noted that more than 2.23 crore Gharaunis have been created nationwide, with over one crore in Uttar Pradesh alone. Of these, more than 55.14 lakh cards have been distributed across 37,000 villages. On Saturday alone, 45.35 lakh cards were handed out in over 29,000 villages within Uttar Pradesh.

Governor Patel remarked on the Svamitva Yojana's transformative potential for rural development. "The Svamitva Yojana is a historic scheme that will give a new direction to development in rural areas," she stated. The scheme grants legal rights to rural residents over their properties, aiming to bolster their economic conditions.

Economic Empowerment and Legal Rights

The legal documents provided through this scheme are expected to facilitate access to bank loans and improve livelihoods for villagers. Additionally, the initiative aims to reduce land disputes and economically empower gram panchayats. Governor Patel instructed district magistrates to identify those without property cards and ensure they receive them promptly.

This initiative reflects a significant step towards enhancing rural infrastructure and economic stability by granting legal ownership rights to villagers. The distribution of property cards is anticipated to bring about substantial changes in rural governance and economic empowerment.
