"A total of 14,763 school-going children have been displaced due to the current Manipur situation. A nodal officer has been appointed for each relief camp to facilitate the admission process of the displaced students," she said.

She further added, as many as "93.5 percent of the displaced students have been admitted to nearest feasible school, free of cost."

Clashes in Manipur started on May 3 followed by a 'Tribal Solidarity March' that was organised in the hill districts to protest against the Meitei community's demand for Scheduled Tribe (ST) status. But the violence took a major turn when two women from the Kuki community were abducted, raped, and brutally murdered.

Opposition leaders Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Manoj Kumar Jha slammed Centre for the prevailing situation in Manipur. Earlier, the Opposition delegation slammed the BJP-led Centre for not sending its team and said it would happily join Prime Minister Narendra Modi if he visits the state with an all-party delegation.

Recently, members of INDIA paid a two-day visit to Manipur to see the current situation of the state. Earlier, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi too met the victims of the violence on June 29 and 30.
